November & December Monthly Favourites

Before I start this blog I just thought I would mention that today is the birthday of my blog! I have had my blog for exactly a year now! I’m honestly so proud of myself for keeping up with it. I might not have blogged as much as I intended and I may slack sometimes but I have blogged for a whole year now and will continue to do so! So a big thank you to every one that follows me, comments on my posts and just supports my blogging in general. I know that I don’t have a massive following but I’m still extremely grateful for every single one of you that does follow me. Lots of love x

Hello everyone, hope you’re all well. Sorry it’s been a while! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas, and a special New Year!
First of all, I just want to say that I had actually put together a November Favourites posts and unfortunately a few days before it was scheduled to post I accidentally deleted it, lol yay me. Therefore I have decided to do another combined Monthly Favourites most, and rewrite my November Favourites here! So anyway… Here’s what I had been loving throughout November and December.

November Favourites

1. Nip + Fab Teen Skin Breakout Rescue Pads

I really like these Nip + Fab Teen Skin Fix Breakout Rescue Pads (that’s such a mouthful). These pads make your skin feel really clean and fresh. The scent is a little bit weird, when I first smelt them I genuinely thought they smelt awful but the more I got used to the scent, the more I actually began to like it. It’s quite a strong scent and smells like cucumber. The pads are designed to get rid of oil and any dirt building up in your pores. I use one in the morning after washing my face and one in the evening after taking my makeup off. My skin definitely feels a lot cleaner and less oily since using these pads.

2. MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter

Seriously, how pretty is the highlighter? It’s a beautiful peachy colour with shimmery silver tones running through it. It also has purple undertones which you can’t see until its actually on your face. This is quite a subtle highlighter and works well when you’re going for a natural look. This is the perfect highlighter to use if you’re looking for a lovely natural glow.

3. MUA PowerPout Acrylic Liquid Lipstick

I’ve used the PowerPout Acrylic liquid lipstick a few times now. The colour is absolutely gorgeous purple! This liquid lipstick feels light on the lips and not drying in the slightest, however; it has a constant wet feel to it which can be quite annoying if you’re eating. This liquid lipstick is also similar to a lip tint because even when the lipstick fades,  the colour still remains on your lips. These liquid lipsticks are also quite cheap too!

4. NYX Liquid Suede – Vintage

Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love NYX liquid lipsticks. You only have to peep at my insta to know that. I think this liquid lipstick is beaut. This one is from the Liquid Suede collection in the shade Vintage, which is a dark maroon colour. This colour looks so gorgeous when on (although my mum doesn’t think so, she hates it) but I love it. The liquid suede lipsticks do feel a little heavier on the lips than the lip creams, but still they aren’t as drying as most liquid lipsticks. The staying power of this lipstick is quite good too and it doesn’t need to be reapplied for quite a few hours.

5. Tove Lo – Lady Wood

I stumbled across Tove Lo’s short film Fairy Dust on YouTube and couldn’t help but fall in love with every song sang in the video. It didn’t take much for me to purchase the album Lady Wood and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the rest of the songs on this album. My favourite songs are Cool Girl, Imaginary Friend and Don’t Talk About It. I actually struggled to pick favourite songs because this album is just full of absolute bangers.

December Favourites

1. Barry M Glitter Nail Polishes

I placed an order on Superdrug and got two Barry M nail polishes free as part of a deal. It’s fair to say that I LOVE both of these nail polishes and therefore they’ve both made it into my Monthly Favourites. Talk about best freebie ever. Both of these nail polishes are beautiful and were perfect to wear during the party season. These looked great to wear during Christmas and NYE when everyone brings out the sparkles and glitter. The copper colour is so beautiful and sparkly! The transparent glitter nail polish looks beautiful on its own or on top of another nail polish. I wore the transparent glitter one on top of a red nail polish and my nails looked SO cute and Christmassy! You need quite a few coats of both these polishes, I think I needed about 3 to prevent being able to see my nail beneath the polish, however; they don’t chip as quickly as other Barry M nail polishes do, but I think that’s because glitter is generally harder to remove.

2. Lush Magic Wand Reusable Bubble Bar

I received the Magic Wand reusable bubble bar for my birthday from my best friend. First of all, how pretty does this look? It’s a cute, pink star with specs of silver glitter. It’s definitely eye-catching. I held this under running water and my bath went a lovely pink colour and had lots of large bubbles. I absolutely loved using this throughout December and it’s become one of my favourite products from Lush. I think I used this in 5-6 baths which is a lot more than I was expecting! I didn’t think it would last very long but it does if you use it sparingly. I only like using a few bubbles so maybe that’s why it lasted so long. However; if you like lots and lots of bubbles, you may not be able to use it as many times as I did. The scent is a very sweet, cotton candy scent but it’s not too pungent. I really loved this bubble bar wand!

3. Lush Tisty Toasty Bath Bomb

The Tisty Tosty bath bomb from Lush was another favourite of mine in December. It’s a white, heart shaped bath bomb that has rose buds inside it. When the bath bomb dissolves in the water, the rose buds are left floating around the bath. It has a very floral scent and even though it’s filled with Rose buds it smells very lemony. The scent is quite a refreshing one! This is one of those bath bombs that leaves the bath water with a milky kind of texture, which makes your skin feel lovely, soft, nourished and extra clean. The only problem I have with this bath bomb is having to pick up all the soggy rose buds after you have drained the bath.

4. NYX Liquid Foundation

This NYX liquid foundation has been an absolute pleasure to wear. I honestly thought it was going to be useless because it’s literally only £6! I thought it would feel cakey and cheap but it doesn’t. It’s a buildable but easily blendable foundation which I like and it provides medium to full coverage without feeling too heavy on the skin. It also dries matte which I love and is oil free. I’ve found that when wearing this foundation I don’t get as oily and shiny as quickly throughout the day, as I have done with other foundations. This is such a budget foundation but it’s SO good! I’d definitely recommend trying it if you haven’t already. This would be a great foundation for people that have olive skin and yellow undertones. If this had pink undertones it would have been a 10/10 for me.

5. Childish Gambino – Awaken, My Love!

I was excited for the release of Childish Gambino’s new album after listening to his 2 singles, Me and Your Mama and Redbone. It’s fair to say that the album, Awaken, My Love! Did not disappoint. I don’t know what it is about this album that I love so much but the songs just give out such positive and chilled vibes. The songs I love the most from the album are Have Some Love, California and Stand Tall. I had to use one word to describe this album it would be “funky”. It’s so different to Gambino’s usual stuff but just as good nonetheless.
And that is everything I have loved during November and December! I have quite a few blogs planned for the next few months and I can’t wait to crack on with them. As always I hope you enjoyed this post. Until next time!
