Max Factor- Luxe Collection

Hello everyone! 4 weeks ago Superdrug hosted a competition on their Instagram (superdrugloves) when Max Factor did a take over on there. Basically, Max Factor have brought out a new collection of makeup called the Luxe Collection’. All you had to do was like a particular photo on Superdrug’s Instagram to be in with a chance of winning the Luxe Collection, and I was won of the 5 winners, yay! Unfortunately, Superdrug had hosted lots of other competitions since the one I entered, and the winners of those had already recieved their prizes and I still hadn’t recieved mine, so that was a little annoying. After 3 weeks of leaving Superdrug numerous messages and comments asking when I would receive my prize they finally emailed me and sent my prizes out and I recieved them about a week later.

Now onto the makeup. What did I win?

I won 4 items in total

1. Max Factor – Face Finity – All Day Primer
2. 2 Max Factor – Lipfinity Lipsticks
3. Max Factor – Masterpiece Max – Mascara

1. Face Finity – All Day Primer

I actually really like this primer! It also has SPF 20 which is perfect for the summer when the sun is out. It’s really good and does make your makeup last all day. I wore my makeup for about 8 hours and at the end majority of my makeup was still on my face! This primer claims to “extend the wear of foundation” and I must say it definitely did!
My makeup survived bowling, the sun, walking around shopping and even a nap.

The only part of my makeup that was messy at the end of the day was probably my mascara and eyeliner and that’s just because my eyes had been watering. Other than that my foundation and eyebrows stayed on pretty well which isn’t a regular occurrence because I have really oily skin. I could have touched my makeup up a little after about 5 hours because I did go a little bit shiny, but nothing too extreme.

The scent of this primer is a little weird, it’s like they tried to make it smell nice but it didn’t really work. I would describe the scent as the smell of glue with a hint of coconut, kind of gross but not really a problem.

This is what the primer looks like without the colourful packaging. I took the packaging off to show you that it looks like this because this is how it looks on the Superdrug website. (It took me about 30 minutes to get that bloody packaging off!)

This primer is usually £10.99 but it is currently on sale for £7.99 in Superdrug.

2. Lipfinty Lipstick

When I opened these lipsticks they were a little bit smudgy. Not like they had been used though because both lipsticks were securely sealed and they didn’t look like they had been used, more like they’d been bumped a lot. The pinky one kind of looked like it could snap so I have to be a little bit careful when using that one by ensuring that I don’t put too much pressure on my lips with it because it could easily break off.

Both lipsticks are really soft on the lips and feel very light too. The shades I recieved are absolutely gorgeous and just scream out Summer to me! The lipsticks just glide across your lips and the lipstick applies so smoothly giving you a really soft look. What I love about these lipsticks is that they aren’t drying and when they start to wear off they don’t leave your lips looking rough and gritty like some lipsticks do. They also are long lasting too and they stayed on my lips for a few hours; however, the pinky purple one didn’t really tolerate food and drink which you would expect from a long lasting lipstick. The coral one however did stay on my lips even after eating.

I’m not too sure what the shade names are because it doesn’t say on the packaging. The one on the left is a beautiful coral colour and the one on the right is a lush pinky purple toned colour. Oh and both lipsticks smell like bubblegum!

I’m not a huge fan of pink lipsticks but this shade is my favourite type of pink lipstick and makes me look really girly without looking like Barbie. I love pairing the pinky purple toned one with light pink and silver eyeshadow. I love pairing the coral coloured lipstick with light green, shimmery eyeshadow on my lid and a darker green in my crease line. I find that wearing a darker colour on the eyes emphasises the brightness of the lips without making your whole makeup look, look too extravagant.

These lipsticks are usually £8.99 but are currently on sale for £6.99 in Superdrug.

3. Masterpiece Max – Mascara

This is a lovely mascara and it really separates your lashes leaving them looking really fluttery. I thought this mascara would have made my eyelashes look longer and although it did, it didn’t make them as long as some other mascaras can. I also thought this mascara would have a wet formula but it didn’t which I know a lot of people will prefer.

This mascara’s applicator is really good because the bristles get really tiny towards the end allowing you to apply the mascara to your corner lashes, which can sometimes prove quite difficult. I did really like this mascara and I would purchase it again if it was on sale, but I don’t particularly think it’s worth the full price.

This mascara is usually £9.99 but it is currently on sale for £7.99 at Superdrug.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you all enjoyed this post. Have you tried any of these products?
