It’s that time again, time for another monthly favourites post! April was a pretty good month for me, I won two giveaways on Instagram, one giveaway was a load of Miss Sporty makeup hosted by just_jodes and the other was a set of the Max Factor ‘Luxe Collection’ hosted by superdrugloves (although I’m still waiting for this set to arrive.) It was also my boyfriends birthday so that was a nice occasion and also mine and my boyfriend’s 2 year anniversary on the 29th of April, but unfortunately he had work so we are celebrating it today by having a day out in Cardiff and going to Kaspas dessert place as neither of us have been there yet. As you can imagine I’m really looking forward to that!
But anyway, enough chit chat, let’s find out what I have been loving the past month!
1. Primark Pink Grapefruit – Scented Candle
I have burnt this candle a few times this month and I’m half way through it already, it was only £1 from Primark and it’s really good. It doesn’t have an overpowering smell when lit so that might be quite nice for some people, although, honestly I do prefer strong smelling candles. This smells so lovely and fruity! It has a perfume type of scent and it smells super fresh. I love this candle and it looks really cute too.
2. Miss Sporty – Perfect Stay Concealer
I’ve been loving< this concealer lately, this came with all of the Miss Sporty makeup from the giveaway I won. It has really good coverage and does last a long time, I probably would say that it does actually last the 10hrs that it claims on the tube. Its not drying or greasy either so that's great. This concealer is really blendable too!
3. Miss Sporty – Khol Kajal Pump Up Booster – 004 Gleaming Turquoise
I’m so in love with this eyeliner! Again it was one of the products that I won in the Miss Sporty giveaway. I have worn it a few times and I think this turquoise colour is great and makes your eyes just pop! It lasts for a while too. I’ve been wearing the eyeliner with coral/peach/light orange/brown eye shadow and a coral lipstick and it looks amazing! It’s the first coloured eyeliner I have worn and its made me want to try more!
4. PS… Lipstick – 04 Coral
Orange lipsticks are essential for the Spring and Summer so I picked up this beauty from Primark for 90p, it lasts a while and looks so great! This is the lipstick I have been wearing with my turquoise eyeliner! I would actually pay more money for this lipstick because I think it’s worth more than 90p.
First of all I will say this, I don’t think this is as good as the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, BUT I do like it a lot and it’s worth trying anyway because you may like it, and it’s definitely one of the better mascaras out there! This mascara gives my eye lashes great volume which is essential for me as I have really short eye lashes *ugh*. It is one of the mascaras that are quite wet and takes a little time to dry. It really separates the eye lashes but can make some stick together (this is why I prefer Lash Sensational). I really like the applicator on this mascara because the bristles get smaller at the end to allow you to put mascara on the inner eye lashes, something I struggle to do with most mascara applicators. Plus, the packaging is gorgeous!
6. MUA Trio – Pink Sorbet Eye Shadow
The perfect summer colours I think, the pink shades in this trio are so lush and I have been reaching for these two shades a lot recently, wearing the lighter in pink on my eyelid and the darker pink in my crease. These colours are just sooooo pretty! I really love them.
I bought this shirt dress from H&M for £9.99. I’ve wanted a shirt dress for a while but I hadn’t found one I liked, until now. This dress is ridiculously comfy, I love oversized T-shirts (um, who doesn’t?) and this feels like I’m wearing a really big T-shirt. The weather hasn’t been so great recently and I’ve only worn it once but I do really like it! I feel like this dress can look nice on anyone too because I’m quite chubby and I actually find this dress quite flattering, unlike a lot of dresses I have tried.
The award for the most comfy skinny jeans EVER goes to these beauties! These jeans were labeled as £12, but when I got to the til they were actually £5!!! How amazing. These are stretchy, skinny jeans and look so nice on. They actually wash really well too and I think they are really good quality. I’m probably going to pick up another pair too. I have been living in these jeans for the last month (not literally).
9. Girls – Season 5 (Spoilers Alert)
Oh look, Girls has made another appearance into my monthly favourites! Again this show has me laughing lots but I love how season 5 dealt with a lot of serious issues too. I thought the wedding of Marnie and Des was great, Shoshanna’s life in Japan was particularly interesting but what I loved most of all was the growing relationship between Jessa and Adam, it was constantly intriguing! There’s a lot to love about this show, and love it I do!
So there we have it, my April Favourites. As you can probably tell there was a few more makeup products in this favourites post then normal! What was your most favourite thing from April? Thank you for reading and I will see you Wednesday with a photography based post!
