I have recently joined the bandwagon and started using adult colouring books. The Colour Therapy book I had yesterday from my mum and you can get this at Tesco for just £1! I received the Indian Summer colouring book from my boyfriend but you can purchase this book from amazon for about £5.
You can pick these colouring books up at a lot of places but some are quite expensive so it’s best to shop around to find them at reasonable prices and to suit you. You can get various patterns and pictures and you can also pick up TV themed colouring books like Harry Potter and Doctor Who. They also make great gifts for someone!
Anyway, these colouring books can keep you busy for hours. I have always loved colouring so I couldn’t wait to own a colouring book. They are so relaxing to do and are perfect to use for when you’re feeling stressed or anxious. These books really help you to wind down and feel peaceful and at ease. So if you find that you often feel stressed or anxious then I would suggest trying these and taking some time out to relax and just colour. Plus, it is very satisfying when you finish a picture and see how beautiful it looks when it is completed.
Below are some of the pictures that I have coloured in myself.
This one is from the Colour Therapy book.
The detail in the pictures are so great and look amazing when they are complete. I coloured this one using coloured pencils although, using coloured pencils takes a lot longer but are a lot easier to use for more detailed and intricate pieces.
This one is from the Indian Summer book and I coloured this one using felt tip pens to create a brighter and more intense look.
The felt tip pens I use are Lycra Hi- Quality Art Pens and there are 20 felt tip pens. These felt tip pens are a little bit pricey but totally worth it! They are amazing to use and highly pigmented. I have actually had these for 6 years now and none of them have ran out or dried up! There are also so many shades of colours to use.
And the colour pencils that I use are Derwent Artists Pencils and there are 24 pencils. There also have many shades of colours to choose from and these pencils are such a good quality!
So there we have it, my colouring books! I hope you have enjoyed this post! I just realised this post is extremely colourful. Have any of you ventured out and bought an adult colouring book?
