January Favourites

Well can you believe it? It’s the last day of January and a whole month has flownnnn by. I still keep thinking it’s 2015, and how mad is it to think that 2006 was 10 years ago? Crazy. Has anyone even managed to stick to their own New Years Resolution? To me, it still feels like Christmas was like 2 weeks ago. It will be Christmas again before we know it! Anyway, enough rambling, below are a few of the things that I have been loving this month! Varying from beauty and bath products, books and TV series. What have you been loving this month?

These are not in any particular order. The descriptions will be short due to already writing blog posts on some of these things and planning to do blog posts on the others soon.

L’Oreal- True Match Foundation

I finally found a foundation that suited my skin tone and had everything I was looking for. It gives your face a healthy glow and doesn’t feel too heavy on your skin. This foundation is great for oily skin and is amazing at covering spots and blemishes. It also lasts quite a long time too before starting to fade and look patchy.

Lush- Intergalactic Bath Bomb

I tried this bath bomb for the first time this month and I was very pleased with it. The water at first was a bright blue colour with beams of pink and yellow in it. It looked very pretty and eventually the water turned to a beautiful midnight blue colour with gleaming glitter in it reassembling a magical sky. It left my skin feeling super moisturised and made me smell minty and fresh all day.

Real Techniques- Beauty Blender

This sponge has saved me so much time and effort when applying my foundation and has replaced quite a lot of my makeup brushes. It does the job perfectly and I find it much easier to apply foundation now, especially in awkward places like around my nose and beneath my eyes! It is also very easy to clean.

Neutrogena- Visibly Clear 2-in-1

This product is amazing. I use it every day as a face mask or facial wash. It leaves my skin feeling revitalised, fresh and soft and has actually dried up a lot of my spots without leaving my face feel dry!

Marvel- Daredevil & Jessica Jones

“Blinded as a young boy, Matt Murdock fights injustice by day as a lawyer and by night as the Super Hero Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.”

I was hooked when I started watching Daredevil.  I’m not normally a fan of things related to “Superheros” but after watching Jessica Jones (which ideally I should have watched after Daredevil) I thought I would give it ago. The acting was superb and I was very shocked by how gory and gruesome this was! I really loved the flashback scenes in this. I’m looking forward to Series 2!

“Haunted by a traumatic past, Jessica Jones uses her gifts as a private eye to find her tormentor before he can harm anyone else in Hell’s Kitchen.”

I was very unsure whether to give Jessica Jones a go but I’m honestly so glad that I did! I think I watched this series over 3 days. I totally binged watched it. It was very different to what I had expected and the acting was superb! This series takes a whole new approach to evil using “mind control” as the ultimate weapon which defeats any gun, knife or any superpower. Plus, I love TV series that have a bad ass woman as the protagonist.

The Art of Being Normal, by Lisa Williamson

This book is absolutely beautiful and is now up there with my all time favourite books. It has such a heart warming story and will make you laugh, cry, ooooh and ahhhh. It’s about a boy who secretly wants to be a girl and deals with every day struggles of trying to be someone he is not and living with the fear of telling his family. He then meets a boy who is strange, mysterious and holds a secret of his own.

  1. Ahh I couldn’t even imagine applying foundation with any other brush than my beauty blender anymore! I’d never heard of the art of being normal before but this post has made me curious about it.
